Some of our clients when they are first diagnosed with dementia tell us it feels like a live sentence has just been given to them. People start treating them differently and choices start being taken away from them for “their own good”.
At Lucerne we are passionate about supporting our clients with the choices they want to make in their own homes. Lucerne can give clients and families helpful and cost-effective tips on simple little things that make such a difference, enabling the home environment to be more dementia friendly.
Lucerne are working with Alzheimer’s Scotland to help raise awareness and improve care standards for clients with Dementia in Scotland.
Our training programmes covers more than the basic NHS dementia induction programme, Lucerne also invite dementia specialists who are able to give 1st hand knowledge and pass on real examples of what can be accomplished when fully experienced carers attend daily to clients.
Lucerne has a Dementia tree where carers, clients and families can pledge to take affirmative action to help raise awareness of dementia
Lucerne raised over £7.5k for Alzheimer’s Scotland in 2018
